One of the essential ingredients in a great small town is a large variety of great bakeries. There's something about a bakery that seems to capture the feeling of a community like no other restaurant can. Typically owned and operated by locals, bakeries are an important part of any small town.
Here is list of some of our favourite bakeries in Orillia:
A local favourite for over 35 years, the Orillia Bakery & Deli remains family owned and operated. With all of their baked goods made fresh in-house the quality of food at the Orillia Bakery & Deli is a 10/10! The bakery has recently been renovated to increase it's size and capacity to provide more selection. Not to be over-shadowed by the baked goods, the Orillia Bakery is also one of Orillia's best deli's.
Famous for their butter tarts, Wilkies has been serving Orillia for over 20 years. You can find their products at the Mississaga Street location or the Orillia Farmers Market. You can even find their butter tarts on the menu at some local restaurants!
With their recent renovation to expand their seating and serving capacity, Mariposa Market weighs in as Orillia's biggest bakery. Mariposa Market is located in one of Orillia's most iconic century buildings and their preservation of this building is sure to take you back in time. Serving everything from coffee to fudge, sandwiches to donuts, the selection is never in doubt!
Using only the finest ingredients, Patilero is perhaps one of the more sophisticated bakeries I've been to. Each item looks as good as it tastes. Patilero creates all of their baked goods from scratch and uses fine chocolate from Belgium.
